The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie 2 Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render expert services for the community.

SASSA will likely be rendering companies like new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, plus the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a statement, the agency said it can be alarmed with regards to the large number of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The intention of the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to sassa reach-out to your large range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is often due to lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no thoroughly functional office dedicated to service the area daily. The service position created for intervention encounters a significant inflow of prospective beneficiaries, that makes it difficult to the Workplace to attend to all sassa status check people who visit a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise a lot more methods to help the servicing of all clients and enhance usage of Social Assistance solutions,” the agency said.
